Neighborhood Get-Together at Kimbro's
April 28 Surpassed All Expectations
Some 100 downtown livers (residents,
not internal body organs) and lovers gathered for a neighborhood get-together
April 28 to greet old friends, meet new ones, and listen to the live music at
Kimbro's Cafe, our neighborhood watering hole and music venue.
Will and Virginie Jordan, Ron and Cathy
Kimbro, Brinton Davis, Brandy Blanton, and Clark Shelton put on an incredible
spread of samplers from Kimbro's regular menu.
"I had no idea this was
here," was a frequent comment, echoed by other downtowners saying, "I
didn't know they served such great food!"
DNA Board Member Terry Comer plus
musical friends provided the live entertainment, including a "Ballad to
840."
DNA members voted a unanimous thanks to
Kimbro's for making this get-together happen, an especially impressive effort in
the wake of the Main Street Festival weekend that should have left everyone
totally exhausted. . . .
